January 11, 2022 Remote Classes Resume

January 21 PD Day

Happy New Year to all of our families.

On Monday, January 3, the Ontario government announced that schools will be closed for in-person learning until January 17. For DSBN students, this means that temporary at-home learning will begin on Tuesday, January 11 -- Monday, January 10 will be used to give staff time to prepare.

Elementary homeroom teachers will be contacting their students directly on Monday, January 10, with information about learning for that week. The office will be open on Monday and administrators will be will also be available that day to answer any questions you may have.

Beginning Tuesday, January 11, regular attendance procedures will resume for all students, including current remote learners and in-person learners who are temporarily online at home. Staff will be asked to take attendance as they normally would (morning and afternoon).

Please note:

• Safe Arrival will continue with callouts to parents regarding absences.

• Parents will still be able to report absences in Safe Arrival.

We will tentatively return to in-person learning on Monday, January 17, however, we will be offering families flexible learning options until the end of January.

Once the return to in-person date is confirmed, we will provide families with information about the updated Public Health measures and procedures.
